So you know.. to be honest here kids.. this has been one fucking shitty week.. any way you look at it.
Lets examine the principals shall we:
1. I can't go to CMJ Music Marathon in New York for two reasons:
a) the radio station doensn't have the $$$
b) I got evicted and will have to be moving at
the time
Regarding "b)" the landlord is giving me 1.5 months notice.. with the reasons being "our personality's don't match" and "issues with the chore schedule". (we live in the same space) To add insult to insult to injury, I just found out that she's not merely taking my space for office space as I'd guessed, but will actually be moving in another tenant. (who I happen to know!) This is after she's screwed me in other ways as well.
To top it all off because of the bizarre rental situation I have no legal recourse in the matter.
Though everyone (including my grandmother!) calling her a complete bitch has made me feel better. So now I have to bloody move in the middle of my fall semester, which fucking sucks.
To add on to that.. Johnny Cash died today. So I cried this morning when I found out, which is the first time I've ever cried in that way, as those albums mean a lot to me, I've listened to them continually sense I was a kid, and sometimes I can tear up just listening to the songs. Poor Johnny. We played a memorial for him on the radio today.
On the somewhat brighter side.. I hung out with some fun people today, re-watched Delicatessan. So that was nice.
On Mon. I get to see the White Stripes play in Vancouver, which will be nifty. And I get to see my Mom the following weekend - the first time since last Christmas! So that would be good. I won't be doing my show that Mon. so expect no playlist this upcoming time. So that's what's making me feel grotty today.
Song of the Week: "Let's Lynch the Landlord" by the Dead Kennedys
Song of the Day: "Man in Black" by Johnny Cash
Oh I'd love to wear a rainbow every day and tell the world that everything's okay
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
Till things're brighter I'm the man in black
