My birthday, my birthday. It was fun. Dasha drank my blueberry juice and was wowed with my head massage device. Kali ate cake like a woman possessed. Ophelie was lovely and brought me a delicious (still warm) baked chocolate cake. I drank beer, wine, strawberry / raspberry mead, Jager, and a variety of other alcohols. There was a total of 4 cakes. It was Quickley's birthday too and people made it out.
I also had my very first professional massage, which gaves me a Thumper in Bambi type of relaxing feeling. I followed my massage with a 1 hour period in a sensory deprivation tank.
The sensory deprivation tank is unlike I've ever done before. Essentially you're in like a 12 foot long (I'm guessing, but I could stretch my arms above my head and it didn't touch) tank filled with a supra-saline solution. The effect is like the Dead Sea would be - you float like a cork effortlessly. The water is body temperature - so you are touching liquid, but it's as if it wasn't there. You're in complete darkness and silence - no sensorial input whatsoever. And you mind just kind of flips and twirls and you lose all sense of time. I came out of there relaxed and refreshed like a new man. Easily the best thing I've done since I was starving and ate that smoked meat sandwich on LSD, which was pretty much my favorite thing I'd done since the beginning of last summer. Nootropics and a visit to the Basilica are perhaps next.
Otherwise I've been thinking about what a strange thing love is.. despite the fact I do see people from time to time, there's rarely that elusive click - like a twitchy all encompassing frenetic energy - like two people tap dancing full tilt boogie on a real live wire. All my favorite relationships have been largely cannibalistic. And there's nothing worse than seeing that glowing look in someone else's eyes and feeling nothing in return. At least I'm not a girl - most of my cool female friends have fielded multiple proposals of marriage - awkward!
Now I'm going to return to drawing up plans to turn my living room into a puppet theatre and other sordid personal endeavours.

I've always been a bit leery about those having seen Altered States when I was a young'in.
Sounds like the Birthday was great!!! Best one I've had was my 20th where about 30 people showed up to party. The fact I was a year older was incidental to most of them. Stiil....most of the girls gave me a Birthday kiss or more .
