I just realized I haven't pumped any action into the journal front in awhile. Which is soo not me.. but for those who care here we go.
Today I had the worst hangover I've ever had in my life.. and I had to work an 8 hour day. Once I got home I hit the tylenol for some sweet sweet relief. Mmm. They're showing Charlie in the Chocolate Factory in the park tonight which I might go see.
I drank a 2 litre bottle of wine (and a few beers as well) at our Station Manager's going away party.. I was drunker then I've been in nearly a year. Whoosh.
The White Stripes are playing in Vancouver fairly soon, which is exciting. Bjork is playing Seattle, but I don't think I'll be able to make that. I'm thinking of trying to save up and hit LA late September for All Tomorrow's Parties!! That would be a hot time. Gotta go see Frog Eyes on Tues before they go tour and become famous and leave us.
My trumpet broke.. so I'm getting that fixed (wish I was practising!).
Really enjoying the Bjork and the Nick Drake. Great disks.. I just got like 15 cds out from the library too.. really enjoying some Moondog, Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet, and this Pauline Oliveros accordion piece. And some Harry Partch too.
My family (mother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, stepfather) have been evacuated from their house. There's all these big forest fires right now in BC because its so dry.. and where they live is near one of the biggest ones. They're staying w/ my aunt.. I miss them.
Otherwise I have this secret crush now.. silly silly. Bryn knows about it. This cool girl who I've hung out with and kept running into several times over the past few weeks. I was going to invite her to the Willie Wonka tonight.. but .. (here's the kicker) she's gone to Toronto for a month. You lucky Torontonians.. you have her. None of the fun picnics and things I was imagining. Oh well.. its not like we're dating.. but I'm in the whole 'can't stop thinking about them' thing. The kicker is I went over to her place Fri. to pick up a cd of mine right.. right before she was leaving. Then I went home to watch Punch Drunk Love, which was really good (and she said she really likes it), and its this sweet love story prominently featuring a harmonium!! Why is that striking you ask? Because she plays (and owns) the harmonium!
This entry should keep you entertained awhile. Now I must rest.
