Woo woo! My journal got to 2 pages of comments! That's a first for me.. I almost didn't want to update. Shout outs to Bryn and Kittyrollins !
I just got up and I'm listening to Somebody Needs a Timeout (41 Canadian artists doing songs for children) it's sooo good. "Turkeys are the Smartest Birds" is playing right now. Groovy.
Hmmm. 80's night tonight so that should be interesting.. (and get to see the lovely Tiamat again!) I really have to get dedicated and start doing some of this work that I need to get done. So today's my "get things done" day as well as my party filled night! Hooray.
Yesterday I avoided the Canada Day crowds (unless I'm with like-minded friends crowds like this always bug me.. especially with all the petty nationalism. meh) after I saw them downtown and took refuge in the radio station. Then I came home.
My friend Lydia came over and we made raw cookie dough to eat (which didn't turn out as the flour we used had too strong of a flavour and through the taste out of wack) and watched two movies. A documentary on Francis Bacon (really good) and a Fassbinder film which we both thought would be good, but was really bad. (Beware of a Holy Whore, don't see it) Missed the fireworks, but didn't really care.
Keep on sending yr. requests for my radio show on monday.. so far I've ones from Queena, Bryn, and Kittyrollins. (yes I'll remind y'all of when it it) Gordon's got me wanting to go buy some records.. hmm.. maybe I will.
Twwly beat me out for the position of Nixon's crush. Oh well.. I'm sure I'll be someone's sometime. Blech.. this single existance. (oh yeah I should call someone..)
More on life later.

ha, i wish that was a picture of me - to be so well groomed with softlights and that backdrop? i've named that photo gary, and gary is truly pimpin. and his eyes go tick tock tick
I have been thinking, recently, about bands that have played major roles in cinema. Yo La Tengo as the Velvet Underground in I Shot Andy Warhol, the "Backbeat Band" as the Beatles for Backbeat; I feel like you, with your relatively encyclopedic (or at least far-ranging) interests could guide me well. I was extremely disappointed to learn that, for example, the 28 Days Later soundtrack is being released without that GYBE! track. I mean really, that would be like releasing a Chinatown soundtrack without the main theme.
