God today was a fucking write off.
I spent the day eating, and sitting in a hammock leisurely reading in the sun. Finally finished my book Observatory Mansions, and started to get deeper into this book of essays I'm reading - "Avant-Gardening" about the political/revolutionary aspects of gardening and horticulture in today's political climate. Really good stuff.
The doing nothing really wore me out, let me tell you. I'm exhausted.
I also watched 8 Women again, with my friend L. We're both obsessed with Douglas Sirk films, and Ozon (the director) is too.. this film is a tribute to those amazing melodramas - but its also a French musical murder mystery. Hot. The songs are these great melancholy French songs too. I love them. Catherine Deneuve and the lovely Ludivine Sagnier is in them. Sagnier has been in the majority of Ozon's films and is always remarkable. Ahh.. the French women.. my Achilles heel. (well one of my Achilles heels.. I have many)
Now I'm just listening to my friend Alex's show.. Garage Grooves. Gotta love that sweet garage sound.
I'm also somewhat disappointed as no one seems interested in my thread on cheese. Sad really. Cheese is so great. I once thought it changed lives, now I know otherwise.
Till we meet again.
