(rubs eyes heavily)
I'm back from Winnipeg. Yay! It feels nice to be home. I got into the university about 10 mins before I had to do my radio show (Toast in the Machine), which I tiredly completed.
2 more days of driving. This time we took the Crowsnest Highway back which is prettier, but longer. But some cool things along the way. I'm going to get my pictures developed today so in a few days I'll have some new candids up.
I saw some amazing shows - JFK & the Conspirators, Yo La Tengo (of course), Greg MacPherson, and ... you'll never guess who.. DJ Jazzy Jeff!! Yay! Jazzy J soooo rocked. Thank god he's long past the Will Smith association and back to making good tunes.
I also saw an amazing art gallery show of Chinese Communist propagandha art there. Sooo much Mao! They had these amazing video installations there too of these Chinese ballet propagandha films. Sweet stuff. We might try to buy some of these for my film club - Magnificent Obsessions.
I also drank a lot. I mean a lot. Like really drunk every single night. Hung out with the Edmonton and Montrealers who were the coolest. Fun fun.
The Mondragon bookstore is really amazing.. I mean.. beyond belief. I'll post some pics of it too I think.
The food in Winnipeg that we had rocked so hard. Amazing vegan/vegetarian stuff was catered by all the best restaurants in town for the conference and then we ate at an Ethiopian restaurant on the final night. I don't think that I'd had ethiopian cuisine before, but my oh my it is fab.
Now I just need to do my schoolwork.. hehe. And other misc. chores/tasks.
Mmm. My roommate Mike made me fried potatoes and eggs for breaky. Tasty. Nothing compares.
Just listening to Love.. and getting ready to hit downtown after a prolonged absence. Arthur Lee is so cool.
