Living a life cloistered in academia for someone like me is pure coasting.. I could answer questions, formulate essays, and regurgitate academic theories for people like an 80 year old crepe chef who could spin a jambon et sauce blanche with his eyes closed.
Lately .. I've been switching it up more than ever.. indulging in my neophilia not only in new subjects in art/film/music, but in different forms of activity altogether.
I'd forgotten about a particular joy, a certain relish that comes in doing the hard things.. in squaring off against a definite challenge.
No longer will I delude myself into seeing straw men as worthy adversaries.
