I would like to set up a website.
Any tips regarding learning how to design sites, good places for hosting, how much it will cost per month, etc?
Update:
I think my brain just came.
I finally had the necessary documentation to get a library card from la Bibliotheque Nationale du Quebec (le National Library of Quebec for you non-Frenchies) ... I mean I've been there before to borrow their free WiFi.. but I'd never before grokked the utter fabulousness that is that the library... first of all.. it's gorgeous..
But not only that.. they have an amazing audio collection of many rare materials.. for instance Don Cherry, one of my favorite jazz musicians, and someone who's material is so rare that it's taken me several years to find a few disks.. they have EVERY SINGLE CD HE'S EVER RELEASED. This is amazing. They also have French psych-pop, difficult underground Canadian experimental jazz and electro acoustic music (pretty much every Ambiances Magnetiques disk) and tons of old country and even disks like The Cramps. Whoever picked out their catalogue is my new favorite person ever. Not only that .. they have a massive DVD / documentary collection and a whole wing for BDs ! (comics!) All of the Invisibles, Transmetropolitan, etc..
So I came home with four volumes of poetry (Cohen, Merrill, Layton, Pound), one BD (McKay's Little Nemo), 3 cds (Messaien, French pop compilation and Ikue Mori!) and three DVDs.. (80s Cat People, Even Dwarfs Started Small, and some 70s gang movie with Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler (the Fonz.. though this was before he played the Fonz) in it. It's like striking gold.. oh man.
Now I can save money on buying that kind of stuff and concentrate on furnishing this apartment and buying more cameras, film, and instruments.
