I could write a novel about the trials of buying a house for the first time. But then, are there any good tales of applying for a loan of any kind?
Thought not. File this under disgruntled mortgage applicants...
To summarize, our loan officer fucked up and missed a tiny, infinitesmal (sp?) piece of documentation that just might bring our closing process to a screeching halt. The certification we received from our 3rd party, non-profit, first-time homebuyer program is only good for 90 days. Which means it hasn't been valid since September. Just a minor oversight on our lender's part.
I feel like I've aged ten years in the last 2 days. Dad came by yesterday evening and the 3 of us went down to Rudyard's for dinner & drinks. It was good to blow off some steam. I think Dad needed a little time off from his caretaker duties with Grandma.
The stress of juggling all the house buying shite has definitely strained things around the domicile. I'm hoping that things will even out after we close and get moved. I'm taking off the week before Christmas to help make sure the transition goes smoothly and that we stay on track.
