"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
Tumultuous two weeks since last posting.
We were starting to despair in our house-hunting efforts about 2 weekends ago. I went in to work on the following Monday and (out of routine) checked the listings, found a very cheap duplex on the East End. Made the appointment. Called Sara to meet me during lunch.
In the meantime, another listing popped up in the same vicinity. Decent sounding '20's Bungalow. Piques my interest. We drove by on the way to see the duplex and it looked good.
Duplex SUCKED. Big yard, but the structure was gutted and was sandwiched into a predomiantly industrial enclave. So our realtor got us into the Bungalow and we instantly fell in love. About 500 sq. ft larger than anyting we've been looking at. Textbook Bungalow style. Awesome hardwood floors. Fireplace (!!!) We immediately put in an offer and within 2 days, we had a contract.
Since then, we've been juggling all the paperwork and tasks that go along with the house-buying process. We thought we were pretty knowledgeable about the enormity what all hs to be done, but there have been a few curves thrown our way.
Despite the foundation problems and bee and termite infestations, we are completely thrilled to finally see the end in sight. Close date is 12/08...
