Now this is a story, all about how, my life got flipped, turned upside down…
Uh wait, that’s the opening lyrics to Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and everyone who’s ever gotten close enough to me knows that I do not smell fresh (I kid, I smell like lavender on a summer’s day.)
So, I said I was gonna start writing blogs and then, in true style, I procrastinated (Seriously, when you get to the stage where you’re hoovering the back garden, you know you’re procrastinating.) Now I’ve left myself with the task of writing about four months worth of what’s been going on in the Life of Leigh (It’s growing on me, as a title.). I gotta be honest, one of the reasons I haven’t written anything, is because I am one of those sort of people who think, unless anything overly interesting happens, it ain’t worth writing about, y’know?
So anyways, I’ve gotten back into writing, just not blog writing LOL. I’m working on a crime noir style story, but set in the modern day, there’s dames in red dresses, hard-boiled detectives with noticeable alcohol problems, and yes, lots of violence, it’s like Tarantino if he’d been clubbed with a brick and forgotten all of his skill. I am still making gfx, but as you can tell, until today, with my new Cheshire_ piece, most of it has not been for SG. I have been, however, obsessed with Green Day’s new album, Saviors (As evidenced by my numerous GD based pieces published here.). Music has, as it always has been, a massive part of my last few months, and I have discovered new love for ‘70s music, as well as a renewed love for the band Crowded House.
Of course, talking about music, I cannot forget that I am going to see The Phantom of The Opera in July. On a whim, I asked my girlfriend to grab me a copy of the musical (25th Anniversary version at the RAH) and absolutely adored it. This led to Miss Saigon, which, no lie, left me a crying wreck, unsure of where I even was, or who had dragged me through that hedge backwards. It is one of the most beautiful stage shows ever made and I encourage anybody to watch it. Ya never know, it might help you to discover a new passion. I am one of those types who thinks you should try everything once, unless it is something really stupid, like shutting your hand in a vice for the fun of it.
PS5 has also been a determining factor in my inability to get online and make graphics. I’ve discovered through PS+, a few games that I never would have dreamed of playing, such as the amazing Powerwash Simulator. Seriously, who would have thunk that you could take such a mundane task as jet washing (Not that it’s that mundane, quite cathartic, actually.) and give it a bloody storyline? WTF. I tried my hand at Bus Driver Simulator too, but it turns out, driving a bus like you’re playing GTA is frowned upon, fucking spoilsports! How was I to know that pedestrians don’t like being run over? I just completed the Showcase mode on WWE 2K24 too (Seriously, best wrestling game they’ve made in a long time.) and all that led me to, was watching old episodes of RAW on the WWE Network. I still haven’t completed RDR II yet either but that is because, after crying my eyes out at Miss Saigon, I have learned that I quite like my tears being on the inside of my eyeballs. (Once again, procrastination rears its’ ugly head again, but RDR came out in 2018, for crying out loud.) At this rate, if Procrastination was a learnable subject in Uni, I’d have a fucking master’s degree in it.
I am gonna look into being a lot more active on this fair site again, after making new friends such as @lilmissfrankenstein and rekindling ones with ladies like @cheshire_ so, until next time, this has been the Life of Leigh. Check in next week, same Leigh time, same Leigh channel (Or whenever I can get the guts up to write another blog LOL)
