I decided this weekend that I'm tired of people wanting me to take sides. I don't know why they want me to and I don't know why they even try. I had the awkward privilege on Saturday night of attending a concert with one group of friends, meeting up with another group, attempting to introduce the two and then discovering that one of the guys... After a day of sunshine on the plane, I turned up on Thursday in a good mood, determined to do everything I could to make things work. Within about 5 minutes, she'd got down to picking holes in everything I do again. Within a day or two, my morale had sunk to a point similar... Read More
There's so many things I like about it-- I love that they stuck this in right at the beginning of the show (you can see the credits at the... Read More
So America didn't really turn out how I expected at all.
Didn't get out to the Northwest, didn't get tanned or lose any weight.
Things with Mrs. Lego got very complicated and now I'm home I have no idea what to do next. I don't know what I want or what I ought to do. I can't even remember what I was thinking of in... Read More
So here I am in the United States.
I've only been here 6 days already, but it's been pretty busy.
Spent 3 nights in New York, which was quite a surreal experience in many ways. Having visited a few other places in the States which are most decidedly not New York already, I was aware of how the city is equally not "America". The whole... Read More
I visited NYC with my high school chorus about 6 years ago. About a half dozen of my friends moved there after they graduated. It's a magical place indeed.
Another crazy... week, really. I went along to a mate's gig last Saturday and then to see the Police with his dad on Sunday, and it looks like I've become part of his promotions company, inevitably promoting the band. The band have their strengths and weaknesses, but mostly I like where they're going and I love the members. I mean, love them. They can all... Read More
I'm kinda sick today. I think my crazy weekend with about 10 hours of sleep and 28 hours of work has caught up on me. I hope it's not a full-on illness, and just feeling under the weather, because in less than 7 days I will be in the US of A.
So far I know:
We're staying in NY for 3 days
Then heading... Read More
At some point this morning-- either on the way to work or not long after I started-- I became aware of a quite sharp pain in my chest. After trying all kinds of things to remedy it while at work, I got home and it still hurt. After a 7 hour shift, this is quite a scary thing and I started to freak out. All... Read More
Today, my day was brightened immensely by Dr. John Dorian (JD in Scrubs) saying he faints when he poops.
I mean, I already found it quite amusing that I have a propensity to faint when I pee, but something about it appearing in a TV comedy reminded me how ridiculous it is.
I actually laughed out loud at the idea while watching the programme and... Read More
Part of my problem is that I don't seize opportunities when they're presented to me. I think about things too much, analyze their pros and cons and miss the value of just doing things for the hell of it.
I heard Jimmy Carr talking on TV yesterday about getting into comedy because he had a quarter-life crisis and realised he didn't want to do everything... Read More
I had a very similar experience this week. I had a chance but paused to think about it just long enough for it to pass...Hmmm.
Well in this case I saw your profile pic and jumped at the chance to tell you I LOVED The Hitchhiker trilogy and even the film. Now if only I could be as decisive about things in 'real' life.
As for your quarter life crisis: I say go for it! Really. I dated a guy who went straight into the work force from Uni and he totally had no life. After two years he had practically no interests/hobbies. Anyhow, long story short; when I left to do shows he quit his job, flew to Korea, and started teaching english. He's still there, but now, fluent in the language, he's re-entering the work force over there! As if. Pretty cool turn around huh?
Oh yeah, and music is sexy. Can't argue with that!
Good Luck,
Tita
