Today I thought I'd express myself through the medium of verse.
This isn't great poetry but I don't have a melody or anything figured out yet, so this isn't a song either, so weak poetry it is, I suppose.
It doesn't matter how she gets it--
Her smile lights up my life.
As much as I want it to be me,
I'm glad somebody's there
Holding her hand
Keeping her warm
Listening to her every fear
Giving her love
I wanted to share
At least I know she'll smile again tonight
I've got so good at feeling things
I know I'm supposed to feel
I can't tell when I fool myself
Or when it's really real
But looking at her photograph
She takes the pain away
Her face tells me there's someone there
Giving what she needs
Holding her hand
Keeping her warm
Listening to her every fear
Giving her love
I wanted to share
At least I know she'll smile again tonight
It's alright baby, it's all alright
Though I cannot hold you close tonight
Somebody else is gonna be my man
And be your man tonight

Good, but sad.
Hope you're doing okay.
