Came home from a party last night feeling quite ugly and unloved and although a good night's sleep helped a bit, I still felt a bit of a chump this morning.
Decided that I'd open another b'day present early in order to cheer myself up- a guitar legends CD from Mum and Dad. Loads of classic rock and blues on it, and unlike a lot of compilation CDs, it didn't feature any token modern songs as a money-making strategy. Further to that, the choice of guitarists and songs generally met with my approval, which is no mean feat, as I can be quite picky about which guitarists are "legends" or not. The combination of beautiful guitar tones and Boston's "More Than a Feeling" certainly helped to lighten my mood.
The beautiful lady in AZ who is quickly becoming the love of my life, even 13 hours away from me, then chatted to me on MSN and said exactly what I needed to hear and literally turned my frown upside down. I'm glad no-one was looking at me in the supermarket queue, 'cos I was smiling rather a lot to myself...
For some reason, Wall's ice cream is called GB ice cream in Sweden. They do the most beautiful blueberry and vanilla ice cream, though, which I haven't seen in England. Bought a tub to treat myself and scoffed most of it in one sitting... mmm...
Thought I'd leave you with a verse from a song that sums up the last 6 months for me (it also has a beautiful guitar tone on it)
Used to be so easy to fall in love again
But I found out the hard way it's a road that leads to pain
I found that love was more than just a game
Playing to win but you lose just the same

Great lyrics!....
I can relate.
Sorry the party didn't go too well for you...
Things will look up for you.
But my dad in response said that segregation was so long ago that any effects of it should be erased by now, even though it was only 50 years ago.
Opening birthday presents early, tsk tsk.
Music, icecream and your girl will always cheer you up quick hehe.
