Today was a... busy day. I'd say productive, but on reflection it wasn't. A lot got done, though.
OK, first of all, I confess I like John Mayer. I believe that makes me a girl, but what are ya gonna do? Tickets went on sale at 9am today for one UK show at the Albert Hall next month. I got up at 11 and figured I'd text a few friends, see if anyone wanted to go and then buy some tickets after work. After all, who even knows who he is here? Seems a lot more people know who he is in Britain than I thought-- by the time I got home from work, he'd not only sold out one concert, but they'd announced a second date and sold that one out too. To start with this surprised me. Now I'm plain pissed off at the assholes who have bought tickets and put them straight on sale at 200% mark-ups on ebay. They clearly have no interest in him except as a financial proposition and because of those fuckers I can't afford to see an artist I genuinely admire. I'll see if I can find any agencies with tickets tomorrow.
That aside, things are looking up.
*Summer has finally arrived. The sun is shining and it's warm outside. I have the weekend off to enjoy the sun too.
*I've switched my mobile contract to a similar one that gives me less free text messages but better free minutes and media messaging. Hello photo blogs. All for 2.50 more line rental and undoubtedly lower bills at the end of the month. However, for some reason although my old and new packages are owned by the same company, they can't just change my plan over, so now I have to either change the number I've used for 7 years or tit about until I get the right number on the right SIM card.
*Today my boss gave me a rota for September, indicating she expects me to stay after the summer. I had planned to tell her I would, but I'd been attempting to put off the final decision for as long as possible. I guess it's reasonably official now.
*The company newspaper had adverts for all manner of discounts available to staff. 200 off a macbook, 10% off clothes, holidays, jewellery... it goes on. Sadly I still can't find a cheap hotel to stay in in New York next month, though. I can still fly to RDU via JFK for 310, though, so maybe that would offset some of the expensive hotel bill.
Um, I think that's it. I think it's time to go to sleep.

I used to keep pet rats. One day, Mister 3 got loose while his cage was being cleaned, the cats started stalking him, he freaked out and bit me when I tried to pick him up. I had to go to the hospital, and waiting 8 hours for them to come in and glue my finger shut and put a bandage on it. AND it costs $800. Bastards.
