NC was surprisingly good, considering. My gf's mum died pretty suddenly, so I headed over with no idea what state the family would be in until I got there. The first few days were tough until the funeral, and then things got easier. After that, Mrs. Lego and I hung out, went to visit some friends at her school, played in the snow, and generally tried to forget about the week before. Mrs. Lego is still in denial, with a bit of anger mixed in; she appreciated me being around for the week, but it just sucks that when it all kicks in for her, I'm probably going to still be here on the wrong side of the Atlantic.
Still, despite everything, we had a pretty good time together. I'd already booked a ticket to go out there at Easter before this all blew up, so I'm quite looking forward to going back there again.
Came home and got something flu-y and spent something like 40 out of 48 hours asleep in bed. Sweating, it seems, as I appear to have lost somewhere around 4 pounds in a week. Feeling mostly better now, though. Bit sniffly, but conscious, sweat and cough-free.
In other news, I sprayed compressed air in my mobile yesterday to try to blow out any collected dust/sand in it. Seemed like a good idea until after work when my phone started asking me to insert my (already inserted) SIM card... Apart from batteries working loose, this seems to be the fate of every Nokia with which I've come into contact. Coincidentally, I had discovered a new package that means I can call the US for 5p/minute that afternoon, so I went to the local phone shop and bought a nice phone with the money I'll be saving on international calls.
Added bonus is that this phone actually has a decent camera on it, so hopefully I'll be able to post some nice pictures on here sometime soon...

volatile:
I've had nothing but trouble from Nokias. The only decent phone that has lasted for me is my Razr.
