Gatorade + Vodka =
So last night I went to the bkfreak's super-cool SGNY party, and got to see all of the cool folks that are SGNY. You know who you are.
However, there was a slight problem with my master plan for the evening, as highlited by the first line of this journal entry. My plan was that I would buy some tasty beer (Brooklyn Lager) which I did, bring it, and pretty much stick to that or whatever other beer I could find for the evening. This would keep me at a pleasant buzz level. Problems began, however, when an unknown group of freeloaders showed up who didn't have the foresight to bring any adult beverages with them. They consumed all of the alcohol that the more considerate guests had brought, forcing poor Stormy to go to the store and get more. In the meantime however, I wanted a drink. I managed to scrounge about 1/3 a cup of gatorade, and figured I would mix it with some vodka for a semi-palatable beverage. Big mistake. While I was a bartender for several years, that was a while ago, and I seem to have lost some of my mixing skills, because the drink I ended up making was at least 2 parts vodka to 1 part gatorade, and a large cup of it to boot.
After downing this I relaxed for a while, chatting with folks. Unfortunately, about 15 minutes later, I felt like I had run into a brick wall. The vodka hit me all at once, and I immediately knew it was time to go before something unpleasant happened.
Which was unfortunate, because that's just when Wuvmonki and Kupoking showed up, and I was looking forward to hanging out with both of them. Next time.
So, I apologize for not saying goodbye to pretty much anyone before bolting last night, but well, in the grand scheme of things it was probably for the best. Oh, and if anyone found a black thermal shirt lying around, that's mine.
