It's Saturday night, I'm getting ready to out, and it's really cold outside. So I'm procrastinating by writing in here.
Unfortunately I only got one comment on my little literary bit that I posted yesterday. So here it is again, maybe I'll get some more feedback. If you read it, spare no mercy, please.
Anyway, today has been one of those good, semi-lazy Saturdays. I got up late, and sat around for about an hour in bed watching TV. Took a shower, briefly considered going to the gym (the weather convinced me otherwise) and decided I would go out and look into getting my next tattoo. I've had an idea for a while and decided to finally get it. So I went to Rising Dragon 2 in Chelsea, mostly because they come highly recommended, and they're super careful when it comes to autoclaving all of their equipment and using new needles every time. Even though it sounds like a lot of fun, I think I'll skip getting HIV or hepatitis.
The girl working there was really cool (and cute.) She set me up with Darren, who's going to be my tattoo artist. I got a time for Wednesday night. My one concern is the price though - $350 for some small, single-color arm work seems a little high. But I suppose it's worth dropping a little bit of extra cash on something that I'll have for the rest of my life, just to make sure that it's done properly. Still, more than I wanted to spend. Once it's all healed I'll take a picture and put it up here.
Then I went to Radio Shack because I've been dying to switch cell phone service. I have T-Mobile, which isn't bad, except for one piddling detail: I don't get service in my bedroom or at my lab bench. Which is where I probably spend about 80% of my time on any given day. So that sort of sucks. I switched to Verizon, as they're a bit more expensive, but apparently have the best service in the city. Go me. Anyway, I'm less than overwhelmed. I haven't been to the lab yet, but so far the verizon phone works about as well as the T-mobile phone did in my bedroom. Ah, yet another disadvantage to living underground.
I wandered around outside for a while, but damn near froze my ass off (which would look kinda funny, I'd like to see someone whose ass froze off some time.) And I've since been floating around the boards here and talking on the phone.
Nothing too exciting. I'm off to a party full of French people, it's my friend A.'s birthday, and while I'm not all that excited about going to the party, she's one of those friends who takes things very personally if there's any perceived slight in her direction. And I'm good friends with her boyfriend. The French... what can I say? Great cheese and wine, but occasionally in need of a minor attitude adjustment. But we still love them. So I'll go. I'm sure it will be pretty fun, anyway.
Hope you all are having exciting Saturday nights...
