So I haven't posted anything in a long time since the book signing was the last note worthy thing I did before the summer. But I haven't had much to talk about.
It has been work, work, work and more work. Which is alright, because that pays the bills. Sadly that leaves very little time for a social life.
What I had hoped would turn into dating and maybe more didn't even get off the ground. It seems to be mired in "I'm not ready for serious dating"...or "my ex really hurt me and I can't seem to get back into the game". Blah, blah, blah...Every time I call to ask this girl out, I get excuses as to why she doesn't want to go somewhere. Kind of funny when she gives me an excuse and I can counter it with a solution. "My car will be in the shop Fri and Sat", to which I say "My car Won't" Or "I am exhausted after my trip" my reply "I have been working 12 hour shifts all week" Then the ever popular "I'm sorry. I've been feeling rather antisocial lately." I counter with " I'm a great cure"..
Look, I'm not stupid, I can see through the mixed signals, and read the writing on the wall pretty clearly. When a girl doesn't want to spend time with you, doesn't even call or text you, she really doesn't want anything to do with you. I have been in this situation way too many times to not have learned anything. So there you have it.
Fortunately for the past three weeks I have been involved in a project at work, and my free time was limited. So it didn't matter. Now that my project is finished and it is the end of the Quarter, the excessive overtime won't be needed until the end of this Quarter, I will have some free time.. It is really sad that the only thing a company offers you is a paycheck and hollow gratitude. I am currently only a "temp" employee working through a staffing service, so don't get all of the perks regular employees get like Health benefits, profit sharing, stock options, sick days or vacation time. All I get is a paycheck, and the occasional free lunch. What can you do, the bill collectors don't care they just want to get paid. There is always the lure of being hired on full time, but I'll believe it when it happens.
Be just, for all is not lost.
My friends are having a Halloween Party, and they are inviting any one and everyone...One of those "the more the merrier" bring a friend especially if she is single, kind of parties. So that looks promising. I am even being fed INTEL on what costume I should wear. So I will be going as the '60s era Riddler Frank Gorsin, not the modern Jim Carry Riddler. I guess there will be a Lee Merideth Cat Woman prowling the party, so I should be in good shape. I'll try to remember my camera and snap some photos to post. Here's hoping....
Then ORY'CON is coming in November, I have my tickets and hotel booked. It should be a blast.. Are you locals going?? The NIWA (Northwest Independent Writes Association) party is the event to attend. It is happening Saturday Night. You don't have to be a writer to go, just buy your admission and show up. If you cosplay that's awesome and if you don't that's okay too. The 'Con is fun, and the after parties are even better.. Remember NIWA........
That's about me......Not much but I'm all I've got.. And that's pretty cool.
Later SG Land.

I hear you on work...I work all the time. I feel like I'm married to my computer screen lately. :/
Have a good Halloween. I'm trying to make it back to Seattle for my Halloween ruckas.
Take care!
means a lot to me!
