The weekend was a great time. I went to Detroit for Movement 2011, 3 days 5 stages of electronic music plus all the afterparties. I stayed at the Mariott Ren. Center the view of the festival from the room was sweet.
All the DJs were great but a few stood out the most. Saturday night was a good night with Richie Hawtin tearing up the the Beatport stage, Visionquest was amazing on the Made in Detroit stage, Felix da Housecat Ripping up the Main stage, but the Red Bull stage was off the hook with Goldie's amazing performance followed by Skrillex. Sunday night was another great night with Richardo Villalobos and Sven Vath and Carl Craig as 69 on the Main stage, Dice Loco on the Beatport stage, and Soul Clap, Beardyman, Gaslamp Killer and Aux88 blowing up the Red Bull stage. The I'm on a Boat 3 afterparty was killer as well. It was a little hazy, with the aid of a little happy pill, but Sven Vath, Stacey Pullen, Richardo Villalobos and others rocking the boat up and down the river til 5am. Monday I took a little down time in the middle of the day but made it back to see some action on the Red Bull stage, and Dubfire with an explosive set on the Main stage, followed by Green Velvet and Fatboy Slim, which words could not describe the masterpieces that flowed from their creative minds. I met a lot of great people, some new and the regulars that we call Movement our "Family Reunion." That pretty much sums up the weekend for me. Paxahau, congrats to a job well done and to my boy Dana for a great weekend.
