Well, this is my first Blog on here and it's a pretty big issue to me, so here we go. I bought my first house almost 5 years ago and with the economy decline and no jobs in my area the last year and a half, I was laid off from work and wasn't able to make my house payment. I had my loan through Countrywide at the time, which was later bought out by Bank of America. They tried to work with me about my situation, but later there helping out was really breaking me even father. I tried to do the repayment process but with I had down weeks from work they didn't seem to care that much by charging me my original payment plus a third. I made two and was right back to where I started the previous months. So to make a longer story short, the house got for closed on and I tried to put it on the market and sell it just to get out of the remaining debt. It was on the market two and a half weeks and had 3 people looking at it and another 2 about to when Bank of America conveniently messed up the paperwork to stop the auction on the house. The person involved with processing my paperwork, I was told was fired because of the problem that occurred. The house went to Sheriff auction and was bought back by the bank for $50,000, which left me with the remaining $44,000 I owed on the house. My reality agent and I both tried to get some answers, but ended up getting the run around with getting transferred to other departments and being placed on hold for extended amounts of time. Two months later I finally receive some kinda of paperwork, not mailed but delivered to my house and stuck inside my front door. It read that the house was purchased back by Bank of America and they were going to give me $2000 for cash for keys if I didn't destroy the house and was out on or before November 13th. The person that left the business card with the paperwork was not with Bank of America and took a week to get a hold of. When finally reached, he said I had to turn in my keys two weeks before the date listed on the paperwork. I asked him what about me getting in and out of the house, he replied just leave the house unlocked. I was like are you serious, not that I live in a bad neighborhood, but I have valuable things in the house. I contacted Bank of America directly like on the issue and was basically switched through 4 departments and placed on hold for a total of 52 minutes and still no answers. I've heard a similar store from another person with the same company and just throwing this out there to not use Bank of America, because they really don't give a shit about anything but there selves and if you are about to buy a house I'd recommend using a different company.
