When I started teaching myself to play guitar as a kid I would figure a few things out and then play and play until I had done everything possible with my new skills and after a month or two I would hit a wall and be stumped as to where to go next. Then after fiddling around I would figure something else out, some new chord progression or riff, and it would be a revelation.
I had such a revelation last night, only not with a guitar. Last night my wife and I were dancing in our back yard because why not, you know, and one thing led to another and we ended up naked and united in the grass. Technically my back yard is mostly moss due to all of the shade, but anyways we found ourselves in a position we had never been in before and it was the same type of revelation only much much better. I was aware that this position existed but had never actually done it and it left me thinking, why didn't I try this like 16 years ago.
To get to the point: life often presents new and spontaneous opportunities that we often pass up. Next time life opens up a new door, don't be afraid to try something new. It just might be your greatest revelation.
In other news, the person we had lined out to take care of our animals (all 23 of them) during our vacation flaked out on us. Wish me luck finding a replacement.
