Made it home last night late. Got to see Brodie today. It's nice to be back in the Bluegrass State, but I do miss all the summers I spent in NOLA. Good to see that things are getting back together down there but there is still a lot of work to be done, especially out towards Slidell. Back to work on Wednesday. Everyone have a...

Keeping it short tonight. Last night my uncle David made crayfish ettoufee, which was ,of course, out of this world. Tonight we had an authentic Louisiana shrimp boil complete with smoked sausage, corn on the cob, new potatoes, mushrooms and whole heads of garlic. My grandpa looks a lot worse this time but at least his mind is still sharp. 88 is getting up there....

In pursuit of my Masters' degree I was obligated to write a theses, and as I was majoring in music, my thesis had to also be about music. It's always interested me how music can alter my moods and put me in a different headspace, so that is what I ended up writing about. 9 years have passed since then and I don't think about...

I should get fitted. I can't imagine what I am suppose to wear. When I tell people my bra size no one believes me.

Here is a list of the 10 most beautiful things I saw yesterday (in no particular order).

1) the dew glistening on the leaves of the 200 year-old white oak that stands beside my house as the sun rose and seemed to dance across the scaly bark of the outstretched limbs.

2) the moon shining through the same tree.

3) the color of my wife's...

When I started teaching myself to play guitar as a kid I would figure a few things out and then play and play until I had done everything possible with my new skills and after a month or two I would hit a wall and be stumped as to where to go next. Then after fiddling around I would figure something else out, some new...

3 more days to work and I'm headed to New Orleans for 10 days. Planning on seeing some family, seeing some sights and of course eating a lot of great food.

Took Brodie home yesterday before work and he didn't want to go. It sucks being a second party parent. But he's going to the Big Easy with me so that'll be a blast.

And......

I recently bought an old church and am now headed down the long and arduous road of turning it into a house. This entails starting from scratch on a bathroom and having the most meager of makeshift kitchens. Thank you to all of the beautiful people who participate on this site.

All along, before getting under way, I had planned on taking pictures after each stage of progress. But it slipped my mind the day I actually started to demo the existing women's and men's washrooms, and after that I just didn't do it. Kinda bums me out that I didn't.
niobe:
Bummer.

PS- comment back in my blog, so that I know you are talking to me. wink smile
