My half-hearted attempts at creativity continue. I'm pretty sure that I've got my home studio setup sorted;
Guitars and bass will be handled by a Line6 UX2 - it records guitar and bass and also has great amp modelling.
Drums will be provided by Superior Drummer 2.0 which, like the fleshlight before it, means that we can get a valuable thing done without having to put up with the person who usually needs to be there to make it happen
The whole thing will be done while being listened to via KRK KNS 6400 Monitoring Headphones.
As for vocals, they'll also be recorded through the Line6, which also works as a vocal preamp, with the Shure PG58, but I'm going to try and find room in my budget for a nice shiny new Shure SM58. Either way, most of this recording will be instrumental, so I can make do with the PG58s.
This recording - this collection of songs (call it an album if you like) will be released for free. I don't want this to be about pleasing anyone or being the start of a musical career or anything other than making an album because this is a piece of art I don't want to die not having made, and that motivation, to me, is a worthy and artistically pure one, and one I want to enjoy while it lasts. You're welcome.
I have also started work on my first novel.
