So I've been scaring myself half to death. I've been watching the vlog Marble Hornets, the most popular incarnation of the mythos surrounding an internet meme called the Slender Man. Originally made up on SomethingAwful, he's now the boogeyman behind a couple of dozen independent fiction projects all establishing different chapters in his mythos, generally blogs or vlogs. And a good portion of them are fucking terrifying. But Marble Hornets is especially so. A minimalist, Blair Witch style youtube series, it is astonishingly effective no-budget horror. Unfortunately I'm unable to tear myself away from it, in spite of the fact that it's detracting from my sleeping patterns.

How can you do it?! I generally avoid horror. I really just can't hack it. lol I watched '28 Days Later' and couldn't sleep. I sat in a cold sweat with a knife in hand all night.

I don't even know. I've loved horror ever since I started reading Goosebumps at the age of 6. I get scared, I just really enjoy it. I also have kind of a morbid curiosity, so if I'm told that something's scary, I'll make a beeline for it. My favourite book is, at least partly, a horror story so potent people have had trouble sleeping in the same room as it. My favourite TV show has a page on the website TVTropes entirely devoted to things in it which are there to induce nightmares and another one devoted to the stuff that wasn't even meant to induce nightmares, but does anyway. There's probably something wrong with me.
