For those with an eye to learning from others' mistakes, allow me to advocate never smashing up the meniscus and rupturing bursa in your knee. I'm going on six weeks since I tweaked my knee pretty good, and I've still got fluid on the knee and, while I mostly have good days, I'm one or two bad movements (lunges, squats, that sort of thing) away from gimping around looking for an icepack. Very much hoping to avoid surgery, and very much looking forward to being able to hike, snow shoe, and such again.l
