It's an interesting topic. I'm in no way an expert about it, so my observations are purely from my personal experience of things. This year summer has been incredibly hot and dry here in the north east of Italy. The rare times it rained it was something sudden, with extremely strong and sometimes devastating winds, to the point where the damages to the houses and the cities were serious. Some of the trees in the park near where I live where totally eradicated, and they were very old and strong trees.
I don't remember such extremes of very high temperatures combined with violent and sudden storms. When I was little summers were colder than now and the storms were more frequent but not violent at all.
I don't know if it is linked with the global warming, but I also noticed that in the sea where I usually go bathing there were many jellyfishes. They have always been there but in some days this summer the water was full of them, I don't remember having seen so much jellyfishes in the past and maybe it can be due to the different temperature of the water.
Thanks to @missy and @rambo for the blog homework, I think it's important to think about this kind of topics and now I've decided to read more about it in order to inform myself better.
