Been calling around for work placements and just remembered I had a contact working at the BBC. I have dropped her an email and she is keen to accommodate you for your work placement. She is a manager in Red Bee Media (a company working in the BBC) who manages the subtitles for TV programmes as well as in-vision signing. There will be some office work but I thought it would be good for you to have the work placement in a media setting and when you work there, you can apply for other jobs within the BBC if media is the career for you. I suggested you undertaking different roles on the work placement so that you can experience the different lines of work and it might help you make up your mind on what you want to do in the future.
This isnt confirmed yet, the manager needs to speak to her HR and see if they can authorise your work placement.
I hope this happens! Would be VERY ideal for me!
