I finally, properly, officially, got into the Honours Economics program at UBC. When I walked into the Econ department to ask what the heck was going on with my application, I almost started crying I was so happy at what she said to me. So much hard work, so many years of toil: upgrading at Douglas, getting my associate of arts degree, finally getting my Math grades up to snuff, working my ass off doing well in the regular Econ courses... I'm finally there. All I have to do is complete some courses and do a thesis, but now I'm IN. I started dancing around the econ office, grinning ear to ear, and by the time I reached the outside, the UBC campus abuzz with new students and sunshine, I was crying.
