SHIMA SUSHI
In Vancouver there is a sushi place on every block. well...that is exaggerated bit there are more than just a few.
I usually go to Shima, which is on denman just before comox. you get 18 pieces of sushi for 6 bucks and it is prepared right in front of you (unlike grocery store sushi which may have been made last year).
Anyway, not that it is the nexus of the universe or anything but i like it. I never used to like it much but one day i just devoured it like a fiend and have never looked back.
Somehow that reminds me of a time when i was a kid( it's interesting how you can write something and then get totally sidetracked by a memory) I was throwing a mild tantrum (it actually was a subdued tantrum if there was sort of a thing) over lunch. my aunt was babysitting me and i was not goign to eat what she had prepared. so she replied wiht "tough, then you don't eat". well i went out of the kitchen (i was about 4 years old mind you) and sulked and cried and after i had calmed down asked if there was any left for me. the lunch was even better coupled with the agonies of defeat and the salivated pands of hunger.
