Pink Like Me

Last May(ish), I decided to move to the city. My reasons were many and varied but one of those reasons was that my six year old had developed something of a complex regarding what she called "dark-skinned people."

and here:

NPR

Ironic example: in 1974, Western Union launched the first U.S....

Funny shit!

I'd never seen this Miami Ink show before kiss a kiss certain kiss someone kiss turned me onto its not inconsiderable charms.

Anyway, it's a fun program. I enjoyed hearing everyone's stories about their tattoos and whatnot. But then the show turned serious: a couple of dudes were getting commemorative tattoos of buddies who had died.

That's what friends are for, isn't it? To remember you and support you, and make fun of you. I can only hope that when I die one of my friends loves me enough to tattoo themselves with something reminding everyone of stupid shit I did.

Thanks for the movie recommendation - Murderball is next in my queue from your last movie critique...now I've added A Home at the End of the World.

Have you seen Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman? I feel like every screen shot is a piece of art.

Geez, that is really heavy stuff. I guess we just don't appreciate what we have. Getting really sick often puts me in the vicinity of understanding what REAL stress and REAL problems are, but barely scratches the surface at the same time. If we don't have our health, how do we find enjoyment in life? Well, I've ordered Murderball on Netflix and will let you know my thoughts. Thanks for the recommendation.
