One has some interesting dreams when one nods off while watching the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre', alone in the dark. At one point I was driving a tractor lawnmower down Main Street in Winnipeg, but it was a gravel road, and the houses on both sides of the street looked like either the Hamilton House with its porch and its seances and its ectoplasm, or Leatherface's house. And the engine in the lawnmower I was driving sounded suspiciously like a chainsaw.
I ended up watching movies until 4:00AM, with a few naps in between. As I was going to bed and I turned the bedroom light off, I decided that maybe it isn't such a good idea to watch scary movies at the lake, by myself, in the dark. Apparently I can still scare myself silly, even at this age.
Brady Bunch season 3 comes out this week. Finally. I will now be able to watch 'Porkchops and Applesauce' to my hearts content.
9/11. Four years ago at this time there were no planes flying in the sky over North America. Hard to imagine, even then.
They already took the pier down at the lake, and I've heard they're going to be putting up a dike along the lakefront this year. The lake certainly is high, I'll admit, and those November north winds are amazingly harsh, and the cottage is on the lakefront, so I think a dike will be a good thing. I'm still going to keep going out there while it's nice, even if my view of the lake becomes obstructed.
