It's almost 4AM and I'm finally inside my warm home. I left the wedding reception at 1AM. Today, there was some sort of heavy snowfall/blizzard warning and the AUTHORITIES were advising against travel. The reception was way outside the city down a country road. Getting there was more than a little scary.
When we left, we traveled in a convoy until the first car got stuck in the snow really good (the bride was in a 4X4 (in lieu of a limo) at the end of the convoy). The next hour was spent pushing the car until it got stuck again over and over. Damn that wind was cold. Thankfully I had my touque with me.Then the snowplows came along and cleared a path. Hooray for snowplows at 2AM.
Then I got home finally and came across a three foot snow drift across my garage door. Nothing better than shoveling snow at 3AM. But I cleared it, got the car into the garage, came inside, stripped off my wet clothing and now I have to settle myself down.
Plus, my cat was very happy to see me.
I think I shall sleep well this morning. No work tomorrow. Happy New Year. Yes. Yes. Yes.
