There was this rabbit that was hanging out in my backyard on occasion for the last couple of weeks. I'd walk from my garage to my house and it'd be sitting there once in a while, looking at me, so I'd stand there and look at it. Eventually it would run off when I made a move too sudden.
Yesterday, when I was going to my car in the garage, it was in behind the garage by the back lane and it hopped away very slowly which was when I noticed that it had a big gash on it's left flank.
This morning I went out my side door and there was a huge crow sitting on the boulevard in front of my next door neighbour's house. Upon closer inspection it became apparent that the crow was picking away at a dead rabbit, whose innards were spread all over the boulevard. Besides making me want to puke, it made me want to cry.
I visited my Mom's grave today for the first time since the day of her funeral last December. Gosh there were a lot of people at the cemetary. It certainly was a lot less emotional being out there today than it was back on December 8th (and warmer, too). I was glad I went with one of my sisters and her daughter (my niece).
There's no grass on the grave yet, still loose soil. Still like it's a fresh grave. My memories are all fresh still, too. It's still impossible for me to watch all the home videos I have that Mom is in.
Finale of Survivor tonight. No matter how annoyed I get with the show and with the contestants and how much things seem changed, in a sense, from when it started, I really enjoy the finale and I end up missing the show when it's finished.
Amazing Race ends this week too, but given what teams are left on the show, I don't really care who wins. I still love the show, without a doubt.
One more thing: 'The Sound of Failure/It's Dark...Is It Always This Dark??' from the latest Flaming Lips cd (At War With the Mystics) is, in my opinion, a masterpiece of a song.

I will have to look for that CD.
