I've been hibernating the last couple of days. More than a little upset about my mom. I went to watch the World Series with her on Tuesday, and she went to bed in the third inning, and then I went over for Wednesday's game, and she was on her way to bed in the first inning. She loves the World Series. It was very disconcerting, but I stayed and watched with my dad both nights. He's always positive and wants mom to try everything to fight it, and my sister tells me that mom's afraid of letting him down, but mom ultimately doesn't really see the point any longer. Quality of Life.
She saw the doctor on Thursday, and they're going to set up some paliative care. My sister (she went with) says she's thinking a few months is all that's left, but when I was over on Wednesday, I was thinking it looked like only a few weeks. I keep thinking, will she be around for the Grey Cup? For my birthday? For Christmas?
Plus, Ozzie's taken a turn for the worse since Wednesday. I can't handle it when he can't shit properly and it ends up stuck to him on his backside.
In other news, the Film Massacre tonight was splendid. There were some really good and effective shorts that played. I would have given the winning prize to another film, but, you know, that's the way things go.
Also, I received Twilight Zone, Season 4 (the original) in the mail today. And earlier this week I finally got the Val Lewton collection delivered. I can't wait to watch them all, and just in time for Halloween. Although I admittedly have watched both the original 'Cat People' and 'The Body Snatcher' with Boris and Bela fairly recently on VHS, but there are another seven films in the collection to go through.
AND: The Brady Bunch, Season 4 comes out next week!!
