So I reached my goal of 1000 likes on my most recent set which is really exciting!
I had to pick more than one winner because there were a lot more comments than I was expecting! Amazing ones at that. Therefore, I picked three awesome commenters.
The winners of my "Compulsion" photo giveaway are:
1. @almost_missed
You are such an awesome dude and one of my biggest supporters! Thank you!
2. @mantraxlive
This was by far one of the most crazy original comments I probably will ever receive. Thanks for being awesome!
3. @xxcursedxx
This was one of my favorite comments because anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with metal so any one who can recognize my LOG tattoo is beyond awesome in my book.
Winners you can message me your home address' so I can send you your goodies. :)
Again there were SO many good commenters I wish I could send you all photos. With that being said any fellow hopefuls or SGs who were hoping to win, let's trade photos! I'm always down for nudey trades ^.^
I asked you guys what you wanted me to talk about in my next blog (aka this one aka the same blog I should've written last night but got home from work and passed out instead) and a few people suggested I talk about my set in member review. More specifically the beautiful @flowerbomb suggested I talk about the inspiration, photographer, styling, and title. So I shall...
The Inspiration and Title:
The inspiration for this set is something that happened more so during the shooting of the set and after the final images were chosen. This may sound odd, but there is a reason why. Being that this shoot was so last minute there was less inspiration thought behind the initial idea of the set. However, once arriving and deciding where we were shooting me I began to play with ideas that inspired my "mood" and "emotion" in the set. I like to play off the people and surroundings around me, which is exactly what I did. Once the final images were chosen, choosing a proper name helped develop a sense of a theme and inspiration for the set as well. Really after everything I was inspired by a simple idea. I thought of this set as this - A woman who is strong and beautiful awaits her lover to come home. She dresses nice for him in the most casual yet still elegantly sexy way. Playing on the living room stairs, waiting for him to come home, so that she can appreciate and love him. He never shows and she's left rolling around on the carpet all by herself on yet another night he doesn't keep his word. But she realizes in her mind that she doesn't need any man to be strong or beautiful because she already is. Now she wants you to see that confidence and realize "hey I can be like that too. I can love myself." The name "Compulsion" came from all of these thoughts. I am always told that the emotion in my eyes is captivating. That I model with my eyes so well. I like to think of myself as a siren that can get anything or do anything she wants purely because of the true emotion and character I display in my eyes. That the emotion is so raw I can compel anyone to do or say what I want. In this case what I want is for all of you to love yourselves.
The photographer:
I had been wanting to shoot with a staff photographer for a while when @corwinprescott contacted me on model mayhem. I thought cool we can collaborate and make some awesome images together. (not realizing we could totally shoot for SG) Long story short we lost touch until @zephi invited me along to come hangout and shoot the same day she shot her set "Tesselate" that came out in MR a good week before mine. Speaking of go check that out here: https://suicidegirls.com/members/zephi/album/1313728/tessellate/ Anyway, I was super sick when Zephi invited me and had work all week so I wasn't sure if I could go. I decided to go last minute anyway because I knew Z was moving soon ( so I wouldn't see her again for a while :/) and I didn't want to pass up the opportunity of shooting before Corwin hit the road again. So I drove to Philly dying with a sinus and throat infection with the most simple (me) outfit I could find. I arrived we hung out for a bit, I admired Franko the pug, watched Z shoot, and then it was my turn.
The Styling:
I'm really stoked that a lot of people seem to love the styling of this set (it makes me happy being a fashion student with a concentration in styling and cosmetics). I had no idea where we were shooting so the fact that my outfit went well with my surroundings was pretty cool. I had been dying to shoot in the sweater I where in the set for a very long time and was determined to finally get good use of it that day. I call it my outdoor blanket and it's one of the most "me" pieces in my closet. It's super cozy, makes me feel witchy, and is a lot of fun to play with! Underneath I decided to wear a nude lingerie set. Probably the simplest and cheapest set I own. (funny because it compliments my body the most and is the most comfortable as well) I bought it specifically for the shoot with the idea in mind that " I want to look sexy, simple, and elegant letting my hair color shine and my eyes have all the attention." I'm glad it all came together well with my little black accessories and long sweater. I just have a vision in mind when I'm styling and I usually always capture what I'm looking for.
So that's it! The inspiration and details of "Compulsion": https://suicidegirls.com/members/lavish_/album/1319428/compulsion/
I do apologize if this was a bit long, but as an artist I think long and hard with just about anything I create. There is always a more detailed reasoning or meaning to all of my work and that is something I hope clearly shows.
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!
