This will be fun because I am incredibly random and all over the place.
1. In my middle school years I wanted to be both a Marine Biologist and go to culinary school. As a kid I was obsessed with sea life and the food network. I would watch every day, fascinated by the art and science of food. At the time my favorite animal was sharks in which I decided to write my own science book about them at the age of 11...
Which leads me to my next fact.
2. I'm a writer. Blogger, journal keeper, book writer, song writer, any kind of writer. Whatever you want to call me is fine I just love to write about anything and everything from my opinion, informational papers, fashion blogs, mini movie scripts, song lyrics, letters, to just descriptive stories of my life. I've never been good at math and even was bad at reading as a kid. But going to after school programs and getting more attention to my writing problems I focused all my issues in life into my writing which eventually made me really good at it. In fact I'm better at writing than speaking now, so it's pretty much my favorite thing to do. Besides writing I live to create. I love to paint, draw, sketch, design jewelry, sing, dance, choreograph, any type of mixed media. If it involves creativity, the mind, the hands, or any other part of my body I most likely love doing it, have tried it, or want to try it.
3. I was basically mute until I was about 4 or 5 years old. My parents took me to the doctor several times as a toddler because they were concerned I literally couldn't talk. I've just always been an introvert that didn't like speaking, so I would just point or make gestures to communicate. By the age of 5 my parents were sending me to Pre-K and I finally began to speak up.
4. My grandmother is my biggest inspiration because she was such a well rounded person and a major part of my life. She took care of me and basically was my mother until I was about 3 years old. I was born in Brooklyn and raised by her along with the help of some local nuns who ran a foster home up until I was three because my parents weren't exactly stable people at the time. I never knew about my grandmother's major role in my life until she was sick. I always loved and admired my grandma's positive personality and crazy "I don't give a fuck" style, but I never knew how much I meant to her. Now that she's gone my biggest goal is to channel her spirit into everything and use her as strength to over come any problems I face.
5. I am deathly afraid of bugs. And I mean this seriously. I am traumatized from experiences as a kid. Any type of bug will virtually make me cry unless it is an ant or a fly. And sometimes butterflies....sometimes. I wish it was something I could control, but I just can't. Put me in a room with reptiles or the biggest beasts in the world I'll be a happy camper. Put me in a room with one wasp or moth and I will probably scream my head off and cry until I'm blue haha
6. I've been made fun of for my weight either directly or indirectly my entire life. People always think it's a compliment to tell me "Girl we needa feed you a cheeseburger! You're so skinny." No. Please. Stop. I eat plenty. I am healthy. I am happy. Leave me be.
7. I am obsessed with a lot of Disney Movies (Which is funny because I never watched Disney Channel as a kid, just enjoyed the movies) Mainly The Little Mermaid, because as we established in fact number 1 I'm obviously obsessed with sea life.
8. I am pretty much always a joker. I'm very animated and am always eager to get people to laugh or smile either with my elaborate stories, sarcasm, or impressions. You name it. I do it.
9. I am bisexual. While I don't like to label myself as anything ever. More recently I've admitted that I am bisexual. It's hard for me to understand which is why I don't like labeling it because that makes it have "set requirements" to categorize myself as one which, in my mind, I don't believe should be true. I know how I feel and that's all I know. Anyway, the reason why it's probably confusing to others is because I have been in a long term relationship with my boyfriend Nick for over two years and didn't "come out" until a year into our relationship. He always knew I liked girls because I never hid that part of me from my male partners, however no one else knew. And I kept it on the down low for a very long time in fear of being looked at differently or losing friendships. Yes I would date a woman if the right one came along, but I just know that I want to be with my boyfriend Nick. Basically, to me, love is love no matter who the person is. And also I love to appreciate all types of beauty in the vast spectrum of males or females. I adore the female body that will never change, however I believe I'd like to spend the rest of my life with Nick. Lucky for me he is absolutely fine with me having my fun with any girl crushes I may have because he's secure enough in our relationship to know that my love is for him and no one else now. AKA lady crushes pick me up ;)
Sorry that was long.
Last one!
10. I am very big on keeping my word or others keeping theres. I grew up with a family and (friends) who were absolutely full of bullshit 90 percent of their lives making promises to me or getting my hopes up for something only to never follow through. As a result, it has made me a very dedicated, loyal, and passionate person to keep my promises and accomplish any goals I set for myself. This is both good and bad, but I wouldn't change a thing. :)
Well I'm not sure if those were good facts and I tend to blab on, but I hope it was easy to follow and at least somewhat interesting.
Thanks for listening!
