I wanted to share with everyone a pretty serious and not so good situation I was in today. I think it's especially important for the many new women on this site looking to be an SG.
So as some of you may know this summer is when I started becoming way more active on here. I've been taking my modeling career more seriously and worked with a handful of photographers.
However, today I had a shoot with a photographer that had contacted me through model mayhem. Now I know this website can sometimes be shady with "photographers" who are essentially just creeps with a camera, but my cockiness thinking I already had enough experience to be able to weed out the bad seeds was thrown in my face today.
I was told that for a two hour shoot I would be paid $100 to do some sensual and soft shots in various lingerie that he would provide me with. He told me to bring along my own as well. (which was a complete waste of time because we didn't use any of it)
Anyway, let me get to the point. I got to the location and we started shooting. Everything seemed to be going pretty great. Until I changed into this third outfit that was a bit too revealing for the type of shoot we were doing. When I came out in the outfit he proceeded to grab my hips and tell me how great I looked. Inside I felt extremely creeped out and concerned because of the tone in his voice. But I was all alone and wasn't sure what to do. SO I kept going. He then asked me if I wanted some wine and began complimenting my chest and such. It was all pretty weird, but I didn't want to act weird because I was afraid if he was suspicious of me being skeptical he would get violent.
Long story short, cutting out all the weird comments and other things he did. I finished up the shoot with him, quickly changed, grabbed the money, and said a quick good bye in which he insisted on hugging me.
As soon as I left the room I didn't even bother waiting for the elevator I just ran down 8 flights of creepy stairs.
Ladies, I strongly suggest that if you get an offer such as this one, DO NOT TAKE IT. Nothing happened to me luckily, but I was majorly freaked out and naive for thinking that such an offer was legitimate.I got too confident in my judgment of photographers since I've already worked with a few. Don't make the same mistake as I did. I feel silly because normally my judgement is great, but shit happens.
People are shitty.
As a side note, I want to apologize for not blogging all week, but I post on my instagram pretty much daily.

Damn, that sucks that you had a run in with a creepy photographer. I'm a photographer and also use Model Mayhem. You should always check references for shoots like that and don't be afraid to bring an escort with you. I hate that there are creepy photographers out there because they give us all a bad name. A photographer should NEVER touch the model without asking first and definitely not in the way that it sounds like he touched you. Don't lose hope though - we're not all creeps! Just be smart and check references if you're unsure about a photographer. This is a bit of a generalization, but most of the photographers that are creeps, are also really shitty photographers. So if the photog's portfolio sucks, check references.
