One birthday down....One to go
Yesterday started out as a typical friday. I went to work, I came home, I ate and I got ready to go to my friend Mike's birthday.
The night started out alright. I went to the liquor store grabbed a bottle of wine and skipped over to my friend Kori's to have a pre-party drink and chit cat. After a Tequila sunrise and a shot we walked up the street to Mike's place for his party.
Mike's party was a small get-together of friends. A mixture of old friends from back home (Winnipeg) and new Vancouver friends. At 11:30 we all got our stuff together and we made our way to the Odessy which is a local Vancouver "Gay" Night Club. There wasn't a line up and Mike got me in for free which was really sweet of him.
When we got inside we all grabbed a drink and then head to the dance floor. The music was alright (I'm not a big fan of dance music). As I was starting to have a good tme. I saw a couple of men dancing with their shirts off so, I decided to do the same. No one really cared except a bouncer.
As I was dancing a bouncer up to me and told me to put my shirt back on. I said, "No, Why can guys do it and I can't? It is actually legal for me to walk through the streets of Vancouver topless you know. If you want my shirt on get a manger to tell me." And then I kept on dancing.
As the evening progressed I made my way to the back patio where my friends were smoking. I told them about what the bouncer had said to me and they agreed that I was in the "right". I then met this cute French girl.
She was about 25. I started talking to her and we ended up kissing (My shirt was still off). By this time I was having a blast.
While we were kissing the manager finds me and says, "Could you please put your shirt back on." and I say, "No. Why can a men be topless and not me? My breasts are smaller than most of the men's chest areound here" he says, "You'll attract the wrong kind of crowd to come here" and I said, "I said that that's discrimination against women" he said, "I don't care. Put your shirt on or you are out". The "French Girl" said, "Just put it back on". So I finally relented.
As I put it on I was getting angry. Some of the guys on the patio started to tell the manger that what I was doing wasn't bugging them. So, At last resort I flashed my breasts to the manger and said, "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!". I then Jumped on a bench and yelled out "People of the patio.....Should I get kicked out for walking around with my shirt off?" I actually had gay men yell out, "NO!". The bouncer then grabbed me and dragged me outside and told me that I am "barred" from the club.
I found Mike and the gang as they were smoking a joint out by the front door of the club. I told them what happenned and the laughed but they also agreed with my stand. They went back in and I went on my way.
The "French Girl", her sister and their group found me and we went off to Celebrities which is another gay club on Davie Street. Before I entered I asked the bouncer if they would kick me out for dancing with my shirt off. They said, "No" so, we went in. I got on to the dance floor and began to have good time. "French Girl" and I were flirting again. The French Girl's sisiter kept telling me how much "French Girl" liked me. That made me feel good and then the French Girl's boyfrind/date showed up. Needless to say I was a little dissappointed.
After dancing for a bit I kissed her Good Bye and headed home.
Just another night for a single girl in Vancouver.
Sigh.
