This afternoon was spent at the Long & McQuade music store on Granville and 6th. I went in just to buy some new strings for my ecoustic guitar.
I left my home at around 1 in the afternoon. I arrived at the store about a half hour later with my guitar in it's case. When I walked in one of the sales people asked if I needed help. I told him that I'm looking for new strings and I would also like the guitar tech to re-string it. Usually they charge for the labor. The sales guy told me that it was my "lucky day". Today they had a special- Buy a pack of strings and they'll put them on for free. YAY!! I hit the jack pot!!
So I bought the strings and the sales rep took my ecoustic guitar up to get re-strung. As I am waiting I start to look around the store. Guitar stands were 5.95 each so, I picked up 2 of those (one for my ecoustic and one for my electric) and I walked up to the percussion/classical department and picked up an electronic metronome.
When my guitar was finished (it took a while because they were really busy today) I left the store with a hell of a lot more than what I had in mind.
Yup. Music stores are an impulsive shopping danger for me.
