Today I have been reading News clips about the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of the Nazi Death Camp called Auschwitz. One news clip on CVT online really disturbed me.

There was a poll done. The questions in the poll were about the Holocaust. I was astonished to find out that 30% of Canadians are ignorant about what happened durring the Holocaust (That's 3 ot of 10 people).

My Grandfather om my dad's side of the family was a polish POW in one of the Nazi camps from 1941-1944. When the War was over he walked out of a camp a mere 58 lbs.
Was His suffering in vain?

Did the over Six million Jews who were murdered Die in Vain? Did the Millions of other people like Polish and Russian POW's die in Vain? What about the Homosexuals, Gypsies and those who opposed hitler Die In Vain? I guess so because, the "Cult of celebrity" is just too important for the people this generation to actually care about history.

We have to remember what Hitler and the Nazi's did to those Six million Jews. We have to remember that Stalin starved millions of people behind the iron curtain in the name of "Stalinist Russia". Why? So we don't let this type of pain ever happen again.

Unfortunatly I think it is too late. GW Bush is well on his way to being the new Fascist Tyrant.

I want to thank you George. I want to thank you for showing the world that Ignorance is bliss, Human life is expendable and I want to thank you for teaching the children of today that it's o.k. to destroy people in another country...as long as it's for oil.

I don't even like to think about that. It bothers me when I feel so powerless to stop it.

Yeah, yeah, democracy. neat idea.

I remember you telling me about your grandpa. Is he still alive? Did you ever get a chance to talk to him about his experiences?
