So I have to say there is nothing worse than waking up to a text message that puts the fear of god into your heart... I woke up this morning to a message from Nel, asking if I had heard about the shootings at the Foxy Lady, as well as a message from FoxyDaisy, my girlie from Providence...
For those of you who don't know, I waitressed there for three years. I know people have negative images of strip clubs, but for those of you who know me, this place was filled with amazing people, good people, people who I consider family. It's sad to think of a strip club like that, but to me, going back there is like coming home. It's a home I was glad to not worlk at anymore when it was my time to go, but home nonetheless.
Early this morning around two am a disgruntled customer enetered the Foxy Lady in New Bedford, MA and just opened fire, injuring 2 police officers, 2 customers, killing himself... but not before killing a bouncer, and Tory. Tory was my manager. The most amazing man you could ever work for, young, goodlooking and stylish, always with a smile, always down for drinks on shift break, willing to do what it took to make you a happy little employee and just a fucking good person.
He was the owner Tommy's nephew, and he was good at his job. I can imagine the scene playing out in my head, I know exactly what happens when someone gets called to the front to deal with an unruly customer, and Tory would have been doing nothing but politly trying to make the situation okay, and the second he realized something was wrong, he would have put the girl's safety before anyone else and done his hardest to protect them.
I can't believe he's gone.
