what do i want right now?
simple things, really.
but a big fucking pile of sushi... that's what i want most of all. sushi is comfort food for me. not in the same sense as say, a turkey dinner complete with stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes and cabbage rolls. as nice as that is, it's nothing compared to the way eating sushi makes me feel. eating big, fattening meals makes me feel too full and tired to do anything other than recline in a chair with my belt unbuckled, struggling to breathe. sushi makes me all bright eyed and bushy tailed. i love it so.
plus there's something that's just so esthetically pleasing in every way about it. it's like you're eating tiny works of art. delicious little masterpieces that taste the way the ocean smells. then you have your little pile of pale pink petals of pickled ginger to cleanse your palate. (i fucking love alliteration) i'm half tempted to buy a jar of those so i can sneak them from the fridge when i'm craving sushi. then there's my true love: wasabi. if it were legal, or in any way possible, i would marry a tube of it. our love would be bright green, hot and lightning fast. any time you have a head cold, just eat a teaspoon of wasabi and your sinuses will drain faster than ten ninjas. you heard me.
tonight i just wanna curl up on a couch with a good friend, watch veronica mars, drink southern comfort on the rocks and try to forget that the fates seem to have an inexplicable vendetta against me.
