From meeting you nearly 4 years ago when you had long since retired from spinal injuries (something I related to with my over 20 years of back problems and own moments of defeat over it, and at the time having just moved to Orlando for a bold step into a new life)
To your unbelievable return last year at the Royal Rumble after 9 years of retirement and triple neck surgery
To last night entering the Rumble at number 1 after being out since the summer with a tricep injury and winning the whole damn thing at 47 and over 58 minutes with 29 other contenders (and to boot 11 years to the day after winning your first Rumble)
It's been incredible to see, someone I admire for their determination and integrity. Someone who has inspired me to keep going and fighting. It was beautiful to see and a shining light at the start of a new year after the disaster of last year.
What capped it off was seeing Christian return, your tag partner in the business and best friend of over 30 years. That one had me choked up.
There's still 11 months and it's been nearly a year since the world went to hell, but seeing someone you look up to persevering and standing tall is a sign of hope, on to the rest of 2021.....
