Did anyone watch the state of the union address today? Holy crap, this is going to totally be one of the most polarizing elections. It makes me feel good though we'll finally find out where our nation stands. Do the American people believe in Bush? Should a nation be able to unilateraly declare war on percieved threats. Does the government have the right to suspend the liberty of its citizens to protect them? Should high school students be tested for drug use? Are gay marriages legal?
The president was very blunt un his standings on these issues. He had no remorse or second thought on his agenda and the continuation of it. America is either for Bush, or against him. The question I'd ask every American is this, " Is Bush for America, your nation, your needs your values, or is he against it?"
I won't feign objectivity. I do not like this president, I do not agree with his policies, and I do not feel my values are being protected. I believe that he is a fear monger, with a tenacious bloodlust. I believe that he has the wealthys best interest in consideration. This president does not believe in the common mans ability to govern self. To me George W. Bush is an elitist of the highest degree. That is against the very principles of our nations constitution and history.
Our nation is a nation of many different people. Many different values fly under the banner of the stars and stripes. What has made America great is the liberty for people to have and express those values. George Bush wants America to have one set of values the "right" kind.
I encourage everyone American, or not, to watch carefully how this year unfolds. This is going to be a very revealing time in the history of our nation, and I think the world. If you can get involved, the best view is gonna be in the trenches.
