Metallica was so amazing.
I had a most exellent night last night! I stopped around in the late afternoon to pick up Oryon, and we got some food, then went to Best Buy for some lithium batteries. Then we hit the road for Gwinnet Arena. A drive that should have taken me about 45 minutes or less (with the way I drive), ended up taking us a good three or so hours. Heh. We messed up with one exit on the freeway, which took us on a magical adventure for the rest of that night. I love it when water mains explode and the freeway goes into a frenzied state. All the signs indicating where we need to go are obstructed, and traffic slows to a crawl for a good six miles. Instead of being afraid of the ghettos, we were just so angry that it turned into a pretty good time. We talked alot, did some hilarious impressions of Andy Dick, and really learned our way around the city. I never thought that in one night we could cover so much of North Atlanta. Good times. One full tank of gas later, we finally found the Arena, and parked way across the street at a Kroger as all parking was full. Kinda glad though, because we wouldn't have to fight traffic on the way out. Got in just as the explosions of the opening number started. What an entrance. Our seats were amazingly close. The floor was only about ten feet wide from the angle our seats were at. Meaning we were probably at an even 20 feet from the band at all times. The stage rotated as well, so that by the end we had a chance to see every member of the band up close and personal. I've never been that close in my life. They performed alot of obscure, lesser known stuff this time around, which I enjoyed greatly because it was my fourth time seeing the brilliance that is Metallica. I feel like I've seen a good 60% of the songs now live. And that's a good feeling. I don't get passionate about much. A new GTA title, truly dear friends, family, a very impressive girl in my life (hah!), Metallica, and Celldweller. Everything else has the volume turned down in comparrison, know what I mean? I have my reasons, just like we all do for things we're passionate about.
Seven fucking encores. The place was on fire, sometimes literally. The pit got very rough, and it was also a blast to watch. Especially when the cute little goth girls started slamming around too. Most exellent. We were seated near some... interesting rockers to say the least. We had a fucking great time, and I couldn't think of a better person to share it with than Oryon. Good times indeed. Through all the years of morons telling me Metallica sucks for whatever various vapid reasons, he always stuck with me in saying that they are quite talented. We made our sweaty way out of the place around midnight, and invaded the nearby Kroger we were parked at with the rest of the rockers and goths for refreshment. I felt a little bad for the two old ladies staring at everyone (the only cashiers in the place) as if it were the End of Days or something. So we drove back in half the time it took us to get there (thankfully enough) and hung out at his place for a bit with his bro and some good ole fashioned Japanese imported gaming goodness. I'm sucha nerd sometimes. Seriously.
After having spent the week like this:
Sunday - No sleep
Monday - 4 hours of sleep
Tuesday - No sleep
Wendsday - 5 hours of sleep
Thursday - 2 hours of sleep
Friday - 6 hours
I managed to sleep basically the whole day away at my place, like the lazy bastard that I was meant to be. And it felt great. Needed to recover! Talked to the girl of my dreams I mentioned a in an earlier post (the unfortunate one that moved away right after we hit it off), and it turns out she does pretty much feel the same way. But I really don't think I can swing that, I just need to have a person here. Too bad almost all of them have sucked so far. Grrrness. Then I've been watching Ocean's Eleven and Gone in 60 Seconds, because I've just been in a crime-y kinda mood, y'know?
I wrote a story recently, a five page on Word short story about a Hitman. I covered all the details I think need to be displayed in a story of this type, and I've never been so proud of something I wrote. I'm really starting to get back into writing hardcore lately. That, and wanting to be a singer again. I miss the old band(s). Anywho, I'd love to post it, or at least put it up somewhere on the web and link to it, but it isn't copywrited just yet, so what do you guys think? I've had to protect most of my stuff in the past, due to a jackass that tried to steal something important from me before (my first real story, about 400 pages on Word). He'll never, ever try that shit again though, and we didn't even have to trouble the local lawmen about it.
Also, after having played with Oryon's kick ass new digi cam he got a sweet deal on, I've really been wanting one. Mostly for the program that will let me shrink pics and stuff to use on here and other various sites where this is required. I really need to get some pics up on here, and I've got an assload. Especially proud to post the party pics from the days of Yore with Oryon and Jem, because words just can't do some of those shin digs justice. Well, figured I'd kill a couple of minutes posting all this insane stuff, so hope it entertained to some extent. I also hope everyone had a fun, safe weekend! Let me know all about it should you desire. I'll be up all of tonight and most all of tomorrow (hoping to make it till at least midnight tomorrow night). I've got a few errands to run, however, so I won't be at the computer every second haha. (Despite what Jenn may say) Wish me luck on a few of the jobs I'll be going for. Especially the pizza place, because it's lookin to me more and more like they're going to try me out for assistant GM. Could just be wishful thinking, but my buddy Matt (current assistant GM) told me they could use another one in this area. And the boss man told me we need to go into some details of my past record as a chef, and my knowledge of how to run a good eatery. So I pray this is what it means. But with my luck, probably not. Ok everyone, I'm out for now, take care, talk to you soon hopefully.
