So I wrote the wrong @bloghomework for last week so I'm just going to pretend I did it for extra credit (;
My first kiss. I'm sure everyone is going to be quick to write about their first gushy, romantic, sloppy first kiss with their first boyfriend or girlfriend. My first kiss story is not one of those. I actually get really excited whenever this question is posed because I like to think my story is so different, I don't tell the typical 'we held hands, got really nervous, and they kissed me' story. My first kiss I had with a 'significant' other isn't nearly as important to me as the kiss I'm about to tell you about.
The year is 1996 and I just start kindergarten. I grew up in such a small town that the kids I graduated high school with were the same kids I went to preschool and kindergarten with, I've known them all my whole life. That being said I started kindergarten knowing and having friends already. At the same time, I met about 40 other kids that I had yet to befriend, and making new friends has always been exciting for me. Attending school also offered Girl Scouts to me, and this introduced me to the girl that was not only my first kiss but became one of the best friends I've ever had.
Playing house was something we all carried over from preschool to kindergarten, except we were big kids now so it became a whole elaborate process with weddings involved. After one Girl Scout meeting and playing on the playground for all of a half an hour, I picked up a pine cone off the ground and asked her if she wanted to be my wife. Of course she said yes because we were best friends immediately. All wedding ceremonies were held under The Big Slide, and that was where I had my first kiss. To this day she's my best friend and wife of almost 20 years. I can't imagine my life without her and that is why I choose this to remember as my first kiss and not one with a silly boy I won't remember his name when I'm telling my children.
