i don't mean in any way mean to diminish the tragedy of what has happened to individuals in louisiana. this post is merely to point out the vastness of upset this natural disaster has caused to out entire nation.
truck drivers are on strike. the can't afford to drive b/c they only get alloted an assumed amount of money for gas. the same goes for delivery drivers. they can't make money b/c gas is costing them four times the amount it was before
farmers: in georgia alone 1 in every 4 acres of land is some kind of crop. we have a situation right now where they may have to make the choice not to farm their crops b/c it will cost more for their fuel than they will make. i know in georgia, they are discussing it right now. if the price of gas doesn't go down in the next five days, all corn will be left in the fields to rot.
this is huge...and seems ridiculous. i know that the loss of access to this 10% of oil reserve in louisiana is a big blow. but considering the effect that the rest of this is having on the country....i think we should be trying harder to keep a constant price on gas that may be a little higher than usual...but this is ridiculous. we have to take care of each other!
so while gas prices are this high...tip your delivery drivers twice as much. they need it!

whew! this has been one stressful and terrible week. nothing has gone right...that is...until today. i am all packed. tori's stuff for the rest of her belly dancing costume came today, not a moment too soon. and brooklyn's dad is going to drop him off as opposed to my mom having to drive all the way to his house to pick him up. have been listening to the cruxshadows all day. that has probably helped my good mood. heard from amos and hope to see him there. i have gotten over stressing about my lack of things to wear. all in all....we will be off to atlanta tommorrow at 6am for dragoncon. i will be back monday night. xoxo! --molly
