so the Azalea Festival went pretty well. i got a photography job out of it, so i guess it went really well. there was a woman in the booth next to us that knew all the vendors. i was amused to hear them come and tell her how shit of a town Valdosta is. yes....i am aware how much of a shit town it is...that would be why the incredible desire to move. i gave up on doing hand-painted cards in the weeks before the festival b/c i got these really cool boxes and started painting them. the first day there, i sell-out of hand-painted cards. people liked the boxes but would rather spend $5 than $20. it is just valdosta though. i was promised by various vendors that my stuff would sell like crazy at other festivals. we have already paid for the calico festival in september but i would really like to find something sooner who's entry deadline hasn't passed. oh yeah. i forgot to mention that this girl accused me of ripping off another artist but she couldn't think of their name. nice. fuck her.
today we are going to see "v for vendetta." can't wait! so excited! it makes me all giddy to see lines in the preview that are straight out of the graphic novel. i hope it's a good sign. speaking of movies. i have seen a few lately. "goodnight and goodluck" is absolutely phenomenal. the directing and camerawork blew me away. not to mention how profound the whole thing is. "waiting" was a dissapointment for me. the movie never really had a chance just b/c i have a group od friends that just LOVE the movie and all i have heard is how incredibly funny it is...so no matter what, it couldn't live up to my expectations. fuck the hype. i used to work at a TGI Fridays and when we got off work we would go and drink at Bennigans with other servers....so i could definently relate. just thought it would be funnier. "just friends" blew ass. utterly ridiculous and not in a good way. "domino" i have mixed feelings about. on one level i absolutely loved it. i liked the heavy saturation and manic scene changes. i'm a huge fan of richard kelly (donnie darko) and tony scott (true romance) but thought the plot was very lacking. micky rourke is bad-ass no matter what he is doing though.
enough of all that. so i will be buying a digital camera soon. have been shopping between the Canon 10D, 20D, and 30D. this will be my first digital camera. i shoot with film currently. i really like the idea of the price of the 10D and think it would fit my needs...but since i am purchasing, should i go up to the 20D just for the investment. they finally reviewed the 30D in popular photography. they say that the picture quality is not any better, there are just some new cool features and a larger lcd screen. who knows. maybe if the 20d dropped in price with the release of the 30d, i should just go with that. but then maybe the 10d would drop in price too. fuck. i'm talking myself into a circle.
