yesterday for lunch, a late lunch i met a friend @ the tadich bar & grill. i had never been there before anf we had the calamari to start & the cioppino. sierra nevadas and a shot of bookers, 127 proof.
the cioppino was to die for. if you can stomach a fresh, working class, seafood based soup, with a luxurious price point i highly recomend it. traditionally, the fishermen would prepare it while out on the water as sustenance. whatever the catch of the day, old tomatoes, garlic, onions and some traditional herbs and spices. they filled it with a generous selection of tender, scallops, clams, large and small shrimp with a morass of chunky tomato bits, so thick it was a thin red sauce. so good. so refreshing and healing for my teetering health from exposure from so many of my friends and strange meetings of dire flu sufferers. i was contented. filled and finished off to the brim with tiramisu. such a delight. heavy price but a new favorite to return to.
